Integrated Well Completions

One of the challenges I face creating marketing material is creating engaging and aesthetic visuals for subject matters that are sometimes overlooked by the average consumer. So, I like to take the same approach I've learned working in the video game industry and cinematics to corporate entities and marketing material.

That said, these are a couple of sequences of an animation I created and a break down of the animation, hud elements and composting work I did for an oil and gas conglomerate.

The idea was to showcase the oil and gas rig site of tomorrow. More efficient and with a smaller footprint on the environment. They also wanted to highlight new assets and machines utilized at the site. Once I established a look and feel with the client, I set up scenes in max, rendered the camera pathing, material passes, spent a LONG time creating the UI and HUD elements in After Effects and then composited all layers for a final render. The entire project took 2 months from planning/storyboard to final render.

This is a compilation exert of a marketing and demonstration video produced for a client in the oil and gas industry.

Animated hud elements composited into RPF sequence on a 3d layer in after effects. I used a free script in 3ds max for compositing into scene at exact points where the 3ds asset is in digital space. Life savor of a script.

The idea was to create an expanding area of interest from the base of each main asset. I went with a vibrate color scheme emphasized with a tight glow in an adjustment layer. They were key frame animated, a lot usage of masks, and curve editor lol
